J.J. CALE THE BROADCAST ARCHIVE THREE CD SET OF LIVE RECORDINGS FROM J.J. CALE S EXTRAORDINARY CAREER! Five years on from J.J. Cale s sad passing in July 2013, he remains as iconic and respected a figure among fans, critics and musicians, as he ever was. Indeed, one of his most vocal champions, Eric Clapton, released a year after Cale s death as a tribute to the great man consisting, as it does, entirely of Clapton versions of Cale songs. Furthermore, Eric has stated many times that J.J. was among his favourite people, who had helped the British guitarist get through his darkest days. This 3 x CD set pays its own tribute to J.J. Cale, as it features a triumvirate of live recordings all made for FM broadcast across Cale s extraordinary career. Disc One includes the complete performance Cale gave at the intimate Ebbets Field venue in Denver on 13th February 1975, while at the absolute peak of his career. This disc also benefits from six bonus tracks taken from early singles put out by Cale in the late 1950s and early 1960s under the name Johnny Cale. Disc Two features a Cale show performed at The Fine Line Music Caf?, in Minneapolis, on 9th May 1988, by which time his wife Christine Lakeland had joined his backing group and indeed is featured prominently on this recording. Concluding this set, Disc Three includes Cale s full acoustic set from his appearance at The High Sierra Music Festival, in Leland Meadows, California in 1993. TOTAL RUNNING TIME: 197 MINUTES.
