When I first entered the name Mutanter in Google for this review, there was no information about this band to find at first. After some research I found out that the band comes from the Ukraine and has been shooting through the underground under the name Limited Mutanter (with some interruptions) since 1991(!). Maybe that explains the sound the guys from Kharkiv are driving. Horny Old School Death Metal far away from worn out HM2 guitars or van Drunen clones is what you get here. The hot opener "Ode for Janus" or the driving "Aborted Life" (for which there is also a Lyric video on YouTube) are just some examples of an album, which is no absolute high-flyer now, but all in all has become a solid piece of Death Metal. The songs are catchy, artwork and sound are also good, but the certain something is missing that you need nowadays to stand out from the mass of the felt 1000 releases every week. I wouldn't make an absolute buy recommendation, but you can't do much wrong here either.
