As a singer and songwriter, Roo Panes operates in the region where Ben Howard, Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver would otherwise be located: He is also interested in soulful, timeless songwriting, and he also describes personal experiences in his songs. While the colleagues mentioned often rely on melancholic moods, Roo's music is based on a positive basic mood. He almost always celebrates life in his songs when he focuses more on love and hope than on their counterparts and underpins this optimism with warm sound carpets of acoustic guitar, piano, strings and horns. Roo Panes comes from Wimborne in Dorset. In addition to the three EPs Once (2012), Weight of Your World (2014) and Land of the Living (2013) released to date, he recently released the albums Little Giant (2014) and Paperweight (2016).
