The Sidekicks are originally from Cleveland, Ohio. But in the meantime the Noise and Indie Rock Quartet, which started as a high school band and can look back on a history of almost 15 years, is based in Columbus. The formation became known to a larger audience with the album "Runners In The Nerved World", which was released by Epitaph in 2015. It was the label's debut, but overall it was the group's third long player. Interestingly, "Happiness Hours" builds on the sound of "Awkward Breeds" from 2012, the second band release. It is certainly not wrong to suspect a certain intention in this, because "Awkward Breeds" still enjoys maximum reputation among the fans today. "Happiness Hours" was produced and mixed by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile). And this is also reflected in the sound, which should convince fans of Weezer, Dinosaur Jr. and The Menzingers all around. With the dozen songs, the two remaining original members Steve Ciolek (guitar) - who is also active with Saintseneca by the way - and Matt Climer (drums) are accompanied by the two newcomers Toby Reif on guitar and Ryan Starinsky on bass.
