Spark gives the young creative classical music scene an exciting new voice. The quintet combines the subtlety and precision of a classical chamber music ensemble with the energy and bite of a rock band. Since 2007, the five adventurous musicians have been swirling around the world as a classical band, celebrating an eccentric mix of post-classical, minimal music and avant-garde. In 2011 the ensemble was awarded the ECHO Klassik. Virtuoso and relaxed, the group members move between the most diverse musical worlds. Basically classic, but outwardly unconventional and unadapted, they combine tradition and innovation to an exciting sound experience at the pulse of time.
