The Hungarian trio Terra Profonda consists of members with different musical backgrounds. Kriszti?n has been playing Hungarian folk music for more than a decade, Vincenzo was already in the Hungarian blues scene before, while M?ty?s performed weekly with jazz bands. The different influences form the unique sound of Terra Profonda, crowned by the visionary lyrics of Vincenzo. The group is also inspired by African American blues, folk and instrumental jazz. The term "Terra Profonda" comes from Italian and stands for "deep ground". As the name suggests, the band is characterized by an earthy, down-to-earth sound. Since live performances are more like a thematic, constant flow of music or a free theatrical performance than a concert, the music of the trio can be described as dramatic blues. The song cycles give place to oppressed sailors, sworn and long-winded lovers, frightened horses, scarred berserkers, insane, nervous, flown Eastern European family men who all spread out in the night. As moths on lined up leaves, they all rave about the world of Terra Profonda.
