Seven years after their last album "Kill Everyone" THE TURBO A.C.'s finally present their eighth studio album "Radiation", which convinces with 13 driving punk rock songs and the unmistakable voice of frontman Kevin Cole. Another milestone in the history of a band that has created its own sound over the past 22 years and has earned itself a worldwide fan base from the very beginning. With their debut album "Damnation Overdrive", released in 1996 on the New York record label Blackout! Records, THE TURBO A.C.'s created their own surfpunk genre and made a big impact especially in Europe. That the connection of their raw sound with the catchy melodies has lost nothing of its fascination to this day is proven by the revised re-release "20 Years in Damnation Overdrive", which was released on Concrete Jungle Records / Edel in June 2016. But the re-release is not the only reason why it has become quiet around the surfpunks in the last years. In 2014, Kevin Cole realized a dream. He left New York behind after 25 years and moved to Puerto Rico to open a pizza bar under palm trees. The band still remained active. "We now live in several countries," sums up the guitarist and singer. "But we have known each other so long that distance is no problem for us." But then Hurricane Maria met Puerto Rico. The Revolution Pizza Shop, for which he had worked so hard, was flooded and there was no electricity or fresh water in the city for weeks. His band colleagues spontaneously started a crowdfunding action to help the singer back on his feet - with success. The first recordings of the new album "Radiation" were already in the box when the catastrophe verse broke over the front man of the TURBO A.C.'s. Fortunately, he managed to get them to safety in time. After the worst had been overcome, Kevin Cole set to work to complete the eighth studio album. And seriously, who better to write a punk rock record for an angry new generation than a man who was on the edge himself? "Radiation" inspires with a whole series of energetic songs like "Go Ahead", "All Alone" and the ingenious cover to Lana Del Reys song "High By The Beach". An album that has been a long time coming, but exceeds all expectations!
