Just a month after the release of their first album on Malka Tuti in May 2018, Vactrol Park surprises with a complete LP. With modular synthesizers and unexpected drum computer sequencing, they leave the 4X4 beats behind in favor of off-world rhythms and ever-growing basses. Starting with the high-frequency voltage of drops on the heavy kickdrums, it continues to grow and grow. From there it goes to the "End of the party"-groove, which is Novikov's notation, and his trippy, monotonous rhythm. The A-side ends with the sampled ambient track Macbeth including a mesmerizing flute solo by Italian artist Luca Spagnoletti. The B-side dives even deeper into the atmospheric music. It starts with Bells before we get to the real jewels of the album - Anstruther and Glove. The first is a pure trip into modular psychedelia and repetitive jazzy drum rhythms that create tension right from the start and play with it throughout the track before slowly disintegrating into glove, which is both the catharsis and the decompression session of the album. Like a version of Vangelis from 2018, the background noise of this track will make you dream with your eyes closed long after the end of the album.
