When father and son make an album together, the chances are high that it will be a very personal one. This is what happened with Neil & Liam Finn, whose joint work "Lightsleeper" will be released on 24 August via Inertia/[PIAS]. Neil Finn became famous in the 80s with his band Crowded House and is touring as the newest member of Fleetwood Mac this year. The two have been on stage together before, but "Lightsleeper" is the first joint studio production of the New Zealanders. And to underline the familiar atmosphere and intimacy of the songs with Liam's LoFi melodies and Neil's pop sensitivity, Sharon Finn - Neil's wife or Liam's mother - plays bass on two of the songs and Elroy Finn - Liam's brother - drums on seven numbers.
