Armand (26 years, Synths & Drum Machines) and Clara (25 years, Vocals & Drum Machines) met at an art college near Paris. He swears by the techno of the famous warp label, she sang at the garage rockers Cannery Terror. After first DIY shows, the hip label Cracki Records came across Agar Agar, and in 2016 the debut EP "Cardan" was released, on which Clara lived out her role as High Priestess of the Goth for the first time: a kind of rebirth of Siouxsie in the garb of Donna Summer. Pieces that sound like a discoid shamanic trip, hazy and ultra-slow, a call to obsession and devotion. Two years later her concerts are sold out months in advance. Now her eagerly awaited debut album "The Dog And The Future" is released, again with the trademark of Agar Agar: Clara's dedicated voice floats over flawless, hazy slow disco instrumentals. It is a melancholic, nostalgic and at the same time poppy-futuristic album, which thematically revolves around virtual reality, simulations of life, dogs and love, and is bursting with a wink in the direction of pop culture, labyrinthine riddles and opium-impregnated vibrations.
