Moving Pictures" was originally released in 1993 on Mute Records exclusively as a CD. Among the musicians involved were Jah Wobble (PiL), Michael Karoli (Can) and the Cologne keyboarder Helmut Zerlett! Looking at the eventful biography of Can bassist Holger Czukay, one could come to the conclusion that the experimental musician is an eccentric and unruly free spirit. But Czukay repeatedly emphasized in interviews that he was always dependent on a musical partner in his work, whether in the form of a concrete counterpart or through radio waves and later the Internet. But most of his partners were flesh and blood. His complete works, which are related to cinema, are adorned with a cast that resembles that of a Scorcese film: Brian Eno, Phew, Rolf Dammers, David Sylvian, Annie Lennox, Jah Wobble, the colleagues of Can - the list could be continued for a long time. Many of these masterpieces are out of print today, and so the Greenland label, which released the much-acclaimed retrospective CINEMA on Holger's 80th birthday at the beginning of the year, has set itself the task of making Holger's music accessible again in remastered editions.
