At the very beginning, around 2012, the Berlin combo Camera was on the road as a Krautrock guerilla. For a long time they were perceived as playmates of bands like NEU! or La D?sseldorf. But the Krautrock label, as nice and catchy as it may have been, has had its day. Meanwhile it is clear, that the band has searched and found its own way. Nothing makes this clearer than "Emotional Detox", Camera's fourth album already. While its predecessors were still in trio and duoformation, five musicians worked their way up to "Emotional Detox": Steffen Kahles, Michael Drummer, Michel Collet, Andreas Miranda and Timm Brockmann. Only constant in all four band phases Michael Drummer, is actually a drummer under his sign. After the seemingly machine-like debut "Radiate!" (2012) and "Remember I Was Carbon Dioxide", the bow to William Burroughs in 2014, a playful C64 atmosphere could be felt on "Phantom Of Liberty" (2016). "Emotional Detox" again is characterized by a bubbling joy of experimentation. The band has taken a self-confident step in direction Pop done without connecting to the branched root plexus in the camera foundation to the cut.
