"... In the estimated fiftieth run of "Strange Cousins From The West" I find it more and more difficult to give some hints, because every song convinces in its own way. Some are rather rocky, like the catchy tune "50.000 Unstoppable Watts" or the fantastic "Freakonomics", others rather dark and threatening like "Abraham Lincoln", "Let A Poor Man Be" is pure blues and "Algo Ha Cambiado" is a cover version of the Argentinians of POPPO'S BLUES BAND who are completely unknown in this country. What the hell, this record is one of the greatest records of the last months - if not years - and everyone who has never heard the name CLUTCH should close this picture disaster as soon as possible. CONCLUSION: I don't often call a release a masterpiece, but "Strange Cousins From The West" is one and at the same time a lesson for all the "Angry Young Men" out there who want to rock the world's bad into the ground. If you can even begin to top this record here, you have all my respect from the heart." (Dr. O. / musikreviews.de)
