"Other People's Lives" is the debut album of the 6-piece London-based dance band Stats, which is included in the selected list of trend-setting talents signed by Memphis Industries (as well as The Go! Team, Polica, Field Music and Dutch Uncles.) Stats make music that oscillates between 70's art rock, 80's synthie sound and disco pop and gets a lot of applause for it (e.g. "Excellent Indie-Funk Band", The Guardian). The declared and achieved goal of the band was to capture the transience and inspiration of the moment, to leave old structures and to give space to spontaneity. They have thus created the music of a perfect moment: funk-soaked electro-pop pieces have been created that make you want to dance. They deal with the fact that we perceive our life as a story, as an adventure in which we ourselves are the hero and the course of which we can always tell anew.
