2019 will be a big anniversary year for Epitaph - the story of the Krautrock legend begins in the winter of 1969/70 in Dortmund's Fantasio music club, where the Brit Cliff Jackson (vocals, guitar), his compatriot James McGillivray (drums) and bassist Bernd Kolbe rehearsed in the basement. In 1971 guitarist Klaus Walz joined the band. In 2018 all three founding members stood together with guitarist Heinz Glass (from 1977 for the first time with Epitaph) in the studio to produce their new longplayer Long Ago Tomorrow. Long Ago Tomorrow is again an enchanting epitaph wonder bag. With great sparkling rock songs and soulful ballads, singing twin guitars, polyphonic choral singing and surprising elements like the world-famous Indonesian student choir Paramabira, this album not only unites all the elements one might expect from a new epitaph album. The band seemingly succeeds in combining their 50 years of band history with the present. Once again, as on their last albums and numerous live concerts, Epitaph with Tim Reese (Truckstop) on violin, Klaus Henatsch (Nektar) on keyboards and Agnes Hapsari on piano have mobilized their friends and companions to give this album a special touch. With Carsten Steink?mpfer, Epitaph also has a new drummer on board to fill in for the great Jim McGillivray.
