Rain Diary is a Finnish rock band playing a wonderful and darkly distorted dark wave sound. The native evergreen coniferous forests, the snow-covered nature, all this leaves traces without leaving Rain Diary on the usual Finn Rock paths. Instead, the band packs extremely clever pop elements into their sound and should therefore also appeal to fans from IAMX to Depeche Mode. The band's debut album "The Lights Are Violent Here" was acclaimed by critics for its courage to be fragile, its thrilling drive and its excellent, well-dosed and therefore unaccommodating hook sense. Rain Diary's eagerly awaited follow-up "Black Weddings" was released on March 30, 2018, "Every song is a short story of the strange and painful interrelation of happiness and darkness," says Tommi Suomala, singer with a strong voice. ? The white edition of "Black Weddings" mastered by Mierva Pappi at Waudio Master Studio. The new release includes a brand new song "What Become Of Night" which is the first track recorded with the new line-up around the new drummer Lauri Kujasalo. Lauri adds a new powerful and dynamic touch to the band's sound gear, which gives a good insight into the future third album. The white edition features a special studio arrangement by Swans recorded in a small wooden hut in the middle of the majestic Finnish forest. You can literally hear the melancholic sounds of the swans, which seem doomed to freeze to death in the winter forest. ? The band played songs from their new album for the first time before a new audience at the Reeperbahn Festival 2017. Together with Mikko Joensuu they were chosen to represent the Finnish music scene. "Black Weddings" was also very well received by the Finnish press.
