Scott Lavene, UK singer/songwriter with a punk attitude and CBGB's past, delivers his debut album. The DNA of his songs carries traces of Ian Dury, Elvis Costello, Madness, but also Lou Reed, Talkings Heads, Tom Waits and a bit of Chas & Dave. Scott Lavene sounds like the 21st century answer to the artists of Stiff Records in the 1970s punk era, which BBC Radio 6-DJ Steve Lamacq confirms as well: "Sounds like an updated version of something that Stiff records would have released in the 70's."
