The Hollywood Vampires are back with their second explosive album: Rise. Rock'n'Roll-Royalty Joe Perry, Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp and Shock-Rock icon Alice Cooper created together the Rockalbum 2019, which should not be missed. After just a few seconds of the opener I Want My Now it becomes clear that the band has created something very special - it is this very special chemistry between them that is created in the studio or on stage. Detached from the reputation that precedes the individual performers of this star line-up, Rise is at its core nothing less than raw, unabashed and pure Rock'n'Roll from the pen of true masters of their trade. Unlike their debut album (2015), Rise contains mainly self-written material written by the band. Furthermore, following the original mission of the vampires, the album includes three cover songs written by musicians who died far too young: an intense, intimate version of David Bowies Heroes, beautifully interpreted by Johnny Depp, People Who Died by the Jim Caroll Band and Johnny Thunders You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory, sung by Joe Perry. Wild rock songs like The Boogieman Surprise and Who's Laughing Now, the album's first single release, capture the naturally raw and solemn attitude of the Hollywood vampires, which can also be felt at their concerts. The album also shows the band's range, from We Gotta Rise - an ironically touched song in the tradition of Alice's Elected - to the psychedelic-gothic epic Mr. Spider.
