The crazy-cool and meanwhile twelfth album of the masters of subversive dilettantism. Stereo Total deliver a new and sometimes grandiosely entertaining record about all possible deficits and shallows of the human emotional world. On this now twelfth album this exceptional band has finally managed to leave all pigeonholes and attempts at classification behind, because musically they don't orient themselves on anything anymore. While the different influences of Chanson, Trash, Disco, R'n'R, Punk and NDW could still be discerned on earlier albums, Stereo Total have now completely arrived in their own universe. What remains are the ironic lyrics and the vocals of Fran?oise Cactus, who, as always, has a French accent, the multi-instrumental cross-beats of Brezel G?ring and his own line: Stereo Total make electronic music that questions everything you understand by electronic music, and LoFi garage rock music that resonates with feminism, anti-professionalism and subversive dilettantism. The skilful production (also by Fran?oise Cactus) on 8-track cassette technology contributes to the extraordinary sound experience, Brezel G?ring plays as always on musical instruments, none of which - according to the more or less binding band statutes - may have cost more than 25 euros: plastic baby organs, gruesome mouse pianos and self-made guitars. Again, Stereo Total are animated by anarchic humor and punk attitude, slightly shrill craziness and Berlin coolness. And the new album keeps what the title promises: What a theater!
