E Ruscha V is an electronics project by Eddie Ruscha. For a long time it was quiet around the producer from Los Angeles. In the past two decades Ruscha has already made his mark on various and above all very different outfits - from Maids Of Gravity (Psychedelic Rock) to Medicine (Shoegaze) to Secret Circuit (Electro). Among his collaborators were greats like Cibo Matto, DJ Harvey, Luke Wyatt, Suzanne Kraft and Tim Koh. "Who Are You" is released on Beats In Space Records. The album is dedicated to the conceptual task of setting a lost day to music. Ruscha's atmospheric means of choice, besides various analog sound generators, are violins and guitars, with which he produces relatively dreamy sound backdrops. Under the influence of Afro-, Tropicalia- and Jazz-elements they get a bit more enthusiastic, but then slide back quite quickly into calmer climes. Ruscha describes this movement with the words "from calm to ecstatic but mostly in-between these".
