Freedom to set to music sounds great, but not for everyone. Because studio skills alone are not enough. You have to experience it, do your thing. Ray is one of them. One who is on the road in the world. One who has been making music for a long time and has brought it to stages all over Europe. His songs are inspired by the vibes of the California Bay Area as well as by the time he lived in Africa. His sound stands for freedom, carelessness and unbridled love of life. IMPALA RAY is your acoustic road trip with your best friends to the most beautiful places in the world. On his third album JANGWAR SUMMERS Ray takes us to Africa, where he lived for one summer and absorbed the fascinating culture. Ray takes the listener on a journey through dusty deserts, colourful slums and vast steppes. On JANGWAR SUMMERS you can find sounds of Matatu drivers and slumkids, as well as jungle sounds, clinking bottles and telling people. All this merges into an international sound with a lot of wanderlust for which IMPALA RAY is loved. Californian West Coast Vibe meets an abundance of different crazy instruments like dulcimer, xylophone, tuba and new African rhythms with electronic elements. The result: rough and grooving at the same time. Then again tender, casual and wonderfully special. Just as the African antelopes, the impalas, the IMPALA RAY borrow their names.
