Inspired by the stylistic experiments of artists such as the late J Dilla, who inspired a whole wave in underground and hip-hop scenes, and drummer, new wave and avant-garde producer Deantoni Parks (The Mars Volta, Bosnian Rainbows, Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group), who taught and advised JBXDR during his studies. Although JBXDR has discovered and developed his own style and sound over the years, his music could best be compared to artists like Shigeto, Teebs or even Flying Lotus. Today JBXDR lives in Berlin, where he develops his inventive sounds and concepts and works as managing director and artistic director of Papenwohld GmbH. In 2018 he realised the second Papenwohld Artist Residency under the patronage of the Minister of Culture of Schleswig-Holstein - a unique cultural project in Germany for the promotion of artists. The rest of his family will continue to develop a meeting, creative and event space to enable multifunctional spaces and structures for the realization of new, ambitious projects as well as their promotion and mediation.
