As shadows MOONSORROW wander into the land of the dead. At least that's how "Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa", the album title of the sixth longplayer of the grandmasters of epic-hymnic Pagan Metal, can be translated. The content of the concept album is the continuation of the predecessor "V: H?vitetty". After the end of the world a small group of people survived (which also finds expression in the artwork of the album), but also this flock is doomed. To tell this story, MOONSORROW go a rather unusual way nowadays, because "Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa" is the darkest and hardest album of the discography so far - and maybe even the best. Majestically the four main songs, which are connected by three radio play-like interludes, tower up and overwhelm the listener with a sheer abundance of splendid melodies and rousing emotions. Hopelessness, fear, sorrow, rage - all these feelings find their expression in an inimitable way in the compositions, which, according to singer Ville Sorvali, demanded everything from the band, never before had one had to work so hard on the songs to be able to record them in this form. And so it's not easy for the listener to find access to "Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa", but once the break-even point is crossed, you can let yourself fall into the songs, then the thoughts go on a journey into distant worlds and you dive into history.
