After eight years, Solstorm is finally ready for a new album. Eight years of musical maturing. New thoughts. New times. New members, new collaborations. After a short reunion tour in early 2017, the band entered Taakeheimen Lydriket in Oslo. The basic tracks were recorded live in a few days, while the band recorded the rest in their own studio in Bergen. Taking their time, digging deep in sound and matter, building layers and layers of all kinds of instruments and sounds. Guest musicians have added trumpet, saxophone, violin, cello, various percussion and children's vocals. The end result is 55 minutes of music, divided into 5 songs, with an organic and massive, ever-growing sound. Frail melodies combined with heavy riffs, huge instrumental parts, untraditional song structures and patience to let ideas evolve over time.
