The Californian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Wilson combines on "Dixie Blur" his typically complex guitar music with traditionalist influences from country, bluegrass and Americana, which have shaped his early musical education. The main source of inspiration for "Dixie Blur" was Wilson's homesickness during the last Roger Waters tour of which he is the guitarist. This is exemplified by the lines of the song "69 Corvette": "I still think of Carolina sometimes. I miss the family. I miss that feeling. I miss home". Accordingly, "Dixie Blur" is the most personal of Jonathan Wilson's seven solo albums to date. The listeners get a clear impression of what home feels like for the 45-year-old. In addition to his work as a solo musician and in Roger Waters Band, Wilson continues to work as a producer of top-class musicians such as Lana Del Rey, Father John Misty and folk legend Roy Harper.
