Originating from a lost property office of the absurd, these gigantic, fresh songs seem like prototypes of a new punk species. The outer form of the third work "Rochus" is as abstract as the message it conveys. Sitting in a surreal bar, the Joseph Boys approach new forms of political activism and dadudadaist protest. There is a flash of lightning everywhere in the punk rooms, a driving aesthetic of opulence. Like a massive elephant man in the porcelain shop of life, they tear with their ass what is at the same time new and grandly built up. Even though these are rock sculptures, which belong to one of the probably most non-materially rich disciplines of art, this work is never static. "Rochus" is vociferous protest and styled provocation, a mood-laden collage cannon about philistine consumption and inner obsolescence. With sleek snotiness and anti-establishment, neon pictures break up the "all grey in grey". All are equal. Everyone is well-behaved. Thanks to "Rochus", D?sseldorf is now without doubt one of the wildest places in the world. The lost and found office of life - it's full, nothing fits in there anymore. Except maybe a carnival on K?nigsallee. Please get in line, we are driving backwards.
