SUPERB 1970 BROADCAST RECORDING FROM A YOUNG LAURA NYRO An artist of unique ability and one of the finest American composers of her era, the late Laura Nyro remains a sadly missed yet criminally underrated musical pioneer. Laura achieved critical acclaim with her own recordings, particularly the albums Eli and the Thirteenth Confession (1968), New York Tendaberry (1969), and Christmas and the Beads of Sweat (1970), and had commercial success with artists such as Barbra Streisand, Three Dog Night and The 5th Dimension recording her songs. A consummate and intimate performer too, Laura Nyro s concerts were spiritual and emotional events, and shortly after the release of her fourth record in late 1970, she played at Bill Graham s Fillmore East in New York, on 22nd December. Supported by her then lover Jackson Browne, the entire show was recorded for live FM Radio Broadcast. Previously unreleased, this sublime performance is now available for the first time on this stunning CD. 1. Intro 1:08 2. He's A Runner 4:33 3. Brown Earth 4:20 4.
