Mina was born on 25 March 1940 in Busto Arsizio. 1958 she won a pop song contest and was Talent scout detected. With the song "Nessuno" her first television appearance. "Tintarella di luna" reached January 1960 Number 1 in the Italian charts. With "Il cielo in una stanza" Mina succeeded in the same year with the second number One hit in Italy. In 1960 and 1961 she recorded the songs "Non sei felice", "? vero", "Io amo tu ami" and "Le mille bolle blu" at the San Remo music festival. With "Moliendo caf?" Mina achieved the third number 1 success in 1961. In Germany and the Netherlands, Mina was able to win the the most successful hits of 1962. From the In the 1960s their popularity grew steadily. There followed dozens of Hits and record releases all over the world. 1978 Mina performed publicly for the last time. Since the end of the In the 60's Mina lives in Switzerland in seclusion.
