Ancestor cult was founded in 2010 in Freiburg (Baden W?rttemberg). In the same year the demo tape Kult was released. In the years 2014 and 2015 two more EPs Allmacht and G?tterkult followed. The work for the upcoming album Als das Licht vergehen started already in 2012 and found its final completion in mid 2017. The songs were recorded, mixed and mastered in the Nahetal Klangschmiede Studio. Ancestor worship deals with the astrological side of the Nordic-Germanic mythology. The new album presents the etymological connections between the universe and its interpretation by mythology and presents own personal interpretations. Many old familiar interpretations are reinterpreted. In this cosmic structure, the sun, and thus the god Baldur, is seen as the centre of the great whole, the origin of all being. Ancestor worship thus presents Nordic mythology in a new guise.
