The Thuringian formation ODROERIR belong to the spearhead of German Folk and Pagan Metal and have gained a reputation as a profound and authentic band with three longplayers so far, which also knows how to convince live. In the summer of 2017 they will not release G?tterlieder III as expected, but a pure folklore and acoustic album for the first time, which Fix has produced on his own and in which numerous guest musicians were involved. ODROERIR were on tour in 2006 with Eluveitie and afterwards also with Tyr, Black Messiah, Suidakra, XIV Dark Centuries, Gernotshagen, Fimbulvet and Finsterforst. Not to forget numerous club concerts and festival performances. The music of ODROERIR should be a calmer version of the so-called Pagan Metal from the beginning. Therefore the arrangements do without speed attacks or double bass drums, but contain a lot of acoustic guitars and multi-faceted vocal passages. A big influence for composer and band founder Fix were the viking albums of Bathory. But ODROERIR go a big step further, because they also use several string, plucked and wind instruments known from folklore. In terms of content, Fix deals with the multifaceted field of Germanic and/or Celtic mythology, the early and prehistory of pagan Europe - i.e. the life, becoming and death of our ancestors. In doing so, he avoids the often politically and esoterically charged phrases of other genre bands and focuses on reinterpretations of old legends and fairy tales or rhymed treatises of demonstrably historical events. This is how exciting musical history lessons can be!
