SAMT is pop, which is more than pop. It's all there: the big gestures, the catchy songwriting, the sugary production, the sticky catchy tunes. And yet, between the lines, between the beats, between silence and noise, between day and night, there is something going on. "There's something going on" is also sung by SAMT on their debut double album "VELVET | SILK" which will be released on Motor Music in 2020. Digitally alienated, distorted, and yet as close as a whisper close to the ear. As if the musicians Jakob Arnu, Philip-Maximilian Maier and Florian Balmer themselves did not know exactly what was going on. But the band SAMT knows exactly what they are doing. The creative spectrum of the band SAMT is immense: in almost every song you can find borrowings from jazz, soul, hip-hop, electro, disco and funk.
