Limited CD Box with Black Stone Cherry glass coasters (2x), postcards (4x) and guitar picks (4x). When the COVID 19 pandemic hit the world, the four members of Black Stone Cherry had retreated to the studio deep in the forests of Kentucky to complete their 7th studio album. The daily news with the horrific reports about the virus quickly showed how incredibly forward thinking the lyrics of the new album were. The Human Condition was completed just before the worldwide lockdown and the 13 songs on it are largely emotional and hymnic. "During the recording sessions we really felt the fear of the unknown - it was a frightening time," recalls drummer John-Fred Young. "Every song on this album tells a story about the experiences we all have - about our happiness, our efforts and how we have to adapt again and again. Soundwise, 'The Human Condition' goes straight to the guts and is also a Black Stone Cherry album with lots of hooks. Guitarist and vocalist Ben Wells adds: "We turned the amps up to the max, the drums kicked you in the face and we've got some nice heavy guitar riffs out. After 19 years and 7 albums we wanted to prove that we still got it. This album feels like a rebirth." For the last two decades, Black Stone Cherry have stood for a new form of Southern Rock: almost biting sounds mix with youthful ease, earlier influences and the beloved American rock tradition.
