Start of the Reissue series of the three Ohio Players albums for the Westbound label. Pain' was also the start with the iconic cover artwork by Joel Brodsky. Despite a moderate chart entry (#21) it remained in the US charts for six months. One hit was missing, but it was to follow the successor 'Pleasure', which was also released on Westbound one year later. Funky Worm' was the first of five R&B #1 hits of the Ohio Players.
