The Swiss rockers Big Clyde, founded as recently as 2016, offer us something really independent on their debut "Never A Dead End" and have really hit the mark with producer Michael Voss. Even if the running time is a bit meager and the whole thing smells more like EP, I can only congratulate the motivated troop. They successfully try not to copy a big or medium band brazenly. Anyway, I can't find any associations after several runs of this disc. Basically the whole thing is hard rock with a real bite, timeless, uncheesy, sometimes also something with punk rock, rock n roll vibes. But that's also what makes it fun. The sometimes slightly necessary vocals of Kevin Volken and the whole sound of the album sound as if the band is standing next to you live and without a double bottom. That still has dirt and down-to-earthness. Not everything is gold, some things seem bumpy but the record is fun!
