BIKAYE, ZAZOU - Mr. Manager (Expanded Edition) (Sealed) (CD)

35 years after the release of Zazou Bikaye's second album Mr. Manager, the label Crammed Discs is bringing out a newly mastered special edition of the classic, which has been expanded by nine tracks. Six tracks of it are unreleased so far, three of them were only available on limited edition singles. After the French musician and producer Hector Zazou, the singer and composer Bony Bikaye and the modular synth wizard CY1 had come together for the afro-electronic experiments on the groundbreaking album Noir et Blanc, released in 1983, Zazou Bikaye became a real band with its own approach to Afrobeat and Afrofunk in 1984. Hector Zazou wrote and programmed the music and Bony Bikaye expanded the more extroverted sides of his voice. The two recorded many new songs, five of which were eventually released in the form of the 32-minute mini-album Mr. Manager. It was available exclusively on vinyl beyond Europe, also in the USA on Mark Kamins' Pow Wow label and in Japan. On the vinyl version there are eight tracks plus a download card for all fourteen tracks; the CD and digital versions contain all fourteen tracks.
