Cello and piano - these are the two main instruments of the brothers Sebastian and Daniel Selke from Potsdam. With these two they express themselves detached from classical song structures and make music together as CEEYS. After W?NDE and Hiddensee, they are now looking forward to releasing their third joint work HAUSMUSIK on Neue Meister again. "Grown up in the last decade of the former GDR we try to process our memories, impressions and feelings of this hybrid time in our releases. - CEEYS The creative process of the Selkes is thus probably due to the new discovery of the past. This forms their world view today - a renaissance of supposedly solved conflicts, which come along in a new guise: new borders and walls, a revival of the Cold War, turning away friends, discrimination against dissidents, new forms of tyranny. But despite all the historical difficulties and challenges, childhood was a place and time of spiritual significance for the Selke brothers. "Our childhood and youth was accompanied by daily restrictions and dealing with lack of material. The memories, impressions and feelings, the two sides of the coin - the wall - help us to understand today a little better", explains CEEYS. The central element of HAUSMUSIK with all its inherent tensions is the search for balance and harmony.
