In 2014 their longtime member and saxophone player Mats Magic Gunnarsson died in a drowning accident. Diamond Dogs honored him with a last album and tour. The Group didn't want to go on without him, and they seemed to have reached the end of the road. The following year album Quitters & Complainers was released, and European tour "Stop Barking Up The Wrong Tree" ended in October 2015 in Oviedo, Spain with a huge final show, opening for Iggy Pop, a spectacular farewell night, and the group then disbanded. Sulo Karlsson was to form London punk band The Crunch together with Terry Chimes (Clash), Dave Tregunna (Sham 69) and Mick Geggus (Cockney Rejects). Sulo also have had commercial collaborations with Wilko Johnson (Dr Feelgood), Randy Bachman (Bachman Turner Overdrive), Robert Wyatt, Paul Young and Maria McKee to name a few. The Duke of Honk went on to write and play with Swedish pop stars Meja and Louise Hoffsten, The Hellacopters leader Nicke Andersson in The Solution, Conny Bloom (Electric Boys), The Nomads, The Bellrays singer Lisa Kekaula in Lisa & the Lips, US folk blues singer Gabriel Kelley and many others. The group reunited in 2018 for new album recordings and concert dates. Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple) and Michael Schenker (UFO) drummer Thomas Broman sat in on drums for these sessions, which also saw Chris Spedding (Tom Waits) bass-player Stefan Bellan, as well as former Electric Boys guitarist Martin Thomander, and together with long time serving guitarist Lars Karlsson they form Diamond Dogs current line-up, along with founding members Sulo and The Duke of Honk.
