"Auf Ex", the first studio album in 12 years, has now been recorded and produced by Michael Danielak and Franky K?hnlein in the Backyard/Schallsucht- Studio Hagen - and Hagen plays a bigger role here than the lyrics of the Hamburg-by-choice Havaii used to: "Where I was born / there are no hipsters going / ... wherever you look shattered dreams" . So there is the opener "Die Fressen aus dem Pott" on 13.08.20 as single "Wir werden nicht in Sch?nheit sterben und diese auch niemals niemals vererben / Wir sind die Fressen aus dem Pott, so gemacht vom lieben Gott ..." . Self-reflecting songs like "Vorw?rts durch die Zeit", where aging as a band or a private person is treated as nonchalantly as this Havaii intonation gives it, never becomes pompous, because the singer manages to feel positive and negative at the same time and to transcribe it in a few Four-To-The-Floor lines. Whether consumed "in one go" or in a wing chair with a meerschaum pipe and exquisite grapes: The new Extra Width (its 13th) contains 13 songs and will be released on 13.11.2020. And that's damn good news. "His Majesty the Dead" should get in line. Good luck!
