Shibalba is a project whose main focus is set on expressing shamanic, trance-like music, by the use of ethnic instruments and musical techniques peculiar to religious rituals. The new album "Nekrologie Sinistrae (Orchestral Noise Opus I)" for the first time introduces industrial elements to the band's sound, which richly detailed, multidimensional and saturated with the mysticism of the East. The compositions are layered with chanting and broadly defined elements of traditional ritual music. Apart from contemporary synths and guitar drones, the band makes use of bones and skulls as percussion instruments, Tibetan horns, Tibetan singing bowls, bone & horne trumpets, darbuka's (goblet drums) as well as ceremonial bells and gongs, to name a few. The outcome is deep, unsettling and subconscious. It offers an otherworldly voyage, but not for the faint of heart.
