At Christmas 2018 Illuminine locked himself up in his little music studio as he felt a strong urge to process everything that happened in the world and give it a place. Accompanied by one guitar, a tape machine and a handful of effect pedal he wrote, recorded, and mixed the album in only 3 days. "Baptism of Solitude" is a story told in 13 takes, each reflecting a part of Illuminine’s inner world. Gentle, minimalistic soundscapes taking the listener into a state of pure tranquility. Writing this album, felt so natural and intuitive for Illuminine that he got reminded of his own childhood and first contact with music. Like shown on the album artwork – a picture of young Illuminine listening to music over headphones for the first time taken by his mom. A blissful moment as Illuminine describes that reminded him of these three days recording “Baptism Of solitude”. “After the record was finished, I felt reborn, a new person. The loneliness was good for me.” The album title itself is inspired by a song of the same name from the album "Electric Tears" by cult guitarist Buckethead – one of Illuminine’s greatest sources of inspiration and one of his favourite records ever made. All in all, "Baptism Of Solitude" is not the follow-up to his previous album "#3" that he had in mind, but rather an "outsider" that made its way straight out of Illuminine’s heart into the outerworld
