With "Simple Swimmer" Jordan Prince will release his new album on 18th June 2021 via popup-records. The music of Jordan Prince is characterized by many influences. Born in Mississippi, educated in New Orleans and currently living in Germany, Jordan Prince's sound cannot be easily categorized into a single genre or style. His roots are in traditional folk, and as a singer-songwriter, he likes to tell stories through his music that people can relate to. The subjects of his music are as varied as his styles, whether it's heartbreak, experiences, or death itself, there's generally always more than one meaning behind his lyrics. Jordan's last album, "12 Songs for 12 Friends" (2018), was an ode to the people who changed his life, and each song was personalized for each friend. Although some songs lean toward experimental rock and others were produced purely with acoustic guitar, piano and cello, the songs work together as a single body of work. His new album "Simple Swimmer" now takes another new direction, focusing on different timbres and the element of surprise to bring out the darker side of his personality. Don't be fooled by the addictive pop melodies in songs like "The Crooked Rail," because under the mask of his new festival-ready indie rock, stories appear for the lonely liars who can't quite let go of their ghosts.
